Healthcare top issue for voters heading into midterms

A majority of voters listed healthcare as their most important issue in a poll seeking to preview the 2018 congressional midterm elections.

The poll was conducted by Hart Research on behalf of the pro-Obamacare group Protect Our Care, which argues Republicans will face a major backlash for attempts to repeal Obamacare.

The economy came in second with 29 percent, 28 percent for taxes, and 18 percent for immigration.

Protect Our Care argues that Republican attempts to repeal Obamacare will backfire on them during the 2018 midterms.

However, Republicans did score a healthcare victory by repealing Obamacare’s individual mandate in their tax legislation last month.
