Man accused of breaking into house meets armed homeowner intent on protecting wife, daughter. Oops.

So the homeowner — wanting to “defend himself as well as his wife and daughter,” a deputy wrote in a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report — shot the suspected intruder, the station said.

How did the suspected intruder react to arresting deputies?

I went into the wrong house,” a deputy wrote in the report, the station said.

Mouassite — who was shot in his right arm — was taken to a hospital for treatment, the station said, adding that he later was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and is being held on $30,000 bond.

Deputies added in the report that the homeowner was in well-founded fear that Mouassite was in his home to commit a crime or hurt his family, the station said.
