The studio backing the next film helmed by Hollywood director Bryan Singer has shelved the project over the mounting accusations of sexual assault being brought against him.
On Monday, Millennium Films told Deadline Hollywood that Singer’s planned Red Sonja fantasy-action film is “not on the slate at the moment.”
The director of the recent award-winning Queen bio-pic Bohemian Rhapsody faces allegations from four men who claim he sexually molested them when they were teenagers.
Singer called the Atlantic article a “homophobic smear piece” and insisted that its real purpose was to hamper the success of his most recent film, Bohemian Rhapsody.
Despite winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture, several BAFTA awards, and others, Bohemian Rhapsody has faced some repercussions from the accusations against its famed director.
