Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci criticized President Trump's statement on the white supremacist march that left one person dead and 19 injured in Charlottesville, Va.
"I think he needed to be much harsher," Scaramucci said on ABC's This Week.
When pressed by host George Stephanopoulos on why Trump didn't single out the white supremacists responsible for the violence, Scaramucci said Trump wants to do the opposite of what is expected of him by the media.
"One of the reasons is that he likes doing the opposite of what the media wants him to do," he said.
Scaramucci had a brief tenure as communications director that lasted for 11 days.
