Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said Tuesday that President Trump's response to domestic abuse allegations from the ex-wives of his former aide Rob Porter is "not good enough" and called on him to address the issue directly.
"I haven't heard the president say something directly about how bad domestic abuse is," Schumer said during his Tuesday afternoon press conference.
On Monday, Sanders released a new statement from Trump that said he takes allegations of domestic violence "very seriously."
"The president and the entire administration take domestic violence very seriously and believe all allegations need to be investigated thoroughly," Sanders said.
"Above all, the President supports victims of domestic violence and believes everyone should be treated fairly and with due process."
