Victorian anti-vaxxers won’t be allowed to enrol kids in school under new laws

The tightening of Victoria’s No Jab No Play laws will see anti-vax parents forced to provide proof of serious medical conditions if they want to enrol unvaccinated children in primary school or even childcare centres, the Herald Sun reports.

The legislation will rule out letters from GPs and immunisation providers as proof of vaccinations, instead insisting parents to provide official statements from the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).

Parents of unvaccinated children will need to provide AIR documents explaining the reasons for the decision.

All parents will be required to provide regular vaccination updates.

Ms Hennessy said the Andrews Government is making “no apologies for cracking down on rogue doctors who don’t put the health of our community first”.
